Spring Bird Walks

Great Egret
Great Egret in Rummel Creek

Enjoy a guided bird walk at Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary led by Houston Audubon volunteers! Edith L. Moore is privately owned and managed by Houston Audubon. Donated by Edith L. Moore in 1975, the 17.5 acres of property and log home are the heart of Houston Audubon and a well-loved part of Rustling Pines and surrounding neighborhoods. Almost 200 species of birds have been sighted at the sanctuary over the years. In addition to our resident birds, seasonal migrants can be found feeding and resting before continuing their journey, especially in the spring! We have approximately 1.5 miles of trails which can vary from flat and accessible to steeper inclines and steps.

The walks are free but pre-registration is required. The number of participants is limited to 12. The walks start at 8:30 AM and last approximately 2 hours. Meet at the log cabin.

Park at the Memorial Methodist Church Lot (12995 Memorial) on the eastern boundary of the sanctuary.
